Biography

National Award Winning (Indians highest film honour) Director Kranti Kanade’s new film CRD is set in the world of College Theater and probes fascism and fierce competition in arts. His childrens film MAHEK won awards around the world in festivals and CHAITRA won five National Film Awards becoming Indians official entry to the Student Academy Awards. He studied at UCLA and FTII. He was taught by legendary French screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrier and Indian filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He runs an NGO that has rehabilitated more than 300 underprivileged children. He is also an entrepreneur and tree planter with an ongoing mission of planting 50 thousand trees. He divides his time between Los Angeles, Paris and Pune, India.
